We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on its way out. -Decca Recording Company, Rejecting the Beatles in 1962
All aspiring authors will face times where their work is rejected by others. Whether it be a critical friend or family member or a publishing house. The best thing to do is to never give up. Go the extra mile just to prove your critics wrong.
Like the quote up at the top there shows, the world would be a different place had aspiring artists given up on their work. The same goes for writers. Whether you wish to be a poet, novelist, or screenplay writer the important thing is to not be discouraged by the words of others. Your work of art may be original just like the Beatles were original during their time.
Aspiring authors often receive rejection letters. Rejection letters should be viewed as good or at least a step toward being recognized since many times authors never even hear feedback from the people they submit their work to. Rejection by publishers should be viewed in a positive light.
Don't give up. Your faith in yourself is the ONLY thing that truly matters when it comes to individual pursuits such as writing.
