Americans Should Be Angrier At Congress, At Washington, and at Our Financial Culture of Greed

Our current Congress here in the United States has the lowest approval rating we have seen in quite a while. In a perfect system if the approval rating of Congress dropped below 20 percent, they would all be impeached and the American people would be ridiculed relentlessly for having the gullibility to vote for such twats. Instead we're all stuck-- even those of us who didn't vote for most of the refuse that occupies our current Congress--with years of bad policies that hurt the working class, strip away our liberties, and keep us in a recession that never seems to end. Because of this Congress wages are stagnant in many sectors. The minimum wage hasn't increased at all in almost 10 years because Congress keeps blocking measures to increase it. Wages in general aren't going up much. Ever wonder why your company hasn't increased your wages much in 10 years? Yeah. Stop wondering, you ignoramus. You know. You know that our current system is biting you in the rear end and STOP DENYING IT!
Congress and both of our most current presidents (Bush and Obama) have passed measures that gradually chip away at our civil liberties. Acts such as the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act that allows the FBI and NSA to spy on the American public. But do the American people seem to notice or care? Most of them don't because most of us are ignorant idiots who need to pull our heads out the sand. Most Americans need to stop watching insipid mindless television shows like Dancing With The Stars and other overrated shows and start firing guns and bombs at Wall Street, Congress, and every corrupt sector of elites in our society.
True story: Researchers studying a Congress of baboons found that the alpha males of the group were oppressing the other baboons and causing stress within the group. One night one of the research groups accidentally left some contaminated garbage out. The alpha males (the oppressors) got into it and to the dismay of the researchers, most fell ill and died. But an amazing thing happened. The society became less stressed, more laid back, and happier once the alpha males who had been oppressing them were dead.
It's time for a coup. The same way the Black Plague came along and ended the Dark Ages, so shall the American people destroy their inept and corrupted leaders. Enough is enough. It is time for our oppressors to be killed in the name of a more peaceful and laid back society.
A civil war in the United States is overdue. You should all be angrier than you are. It's time to channel that anger and destroy our current corrupt government and financial culture of greed. A complete overhaul of our current system of crooked lobbyists and corrupt bureaucrats is needed. This is what must be done if anything is to get better in America.

America No Longer #1 in Science, But We Are #1 in One Thing

I find it sad to see America becoming a nation that is hostile and distrusting toward scientists and science. Scientists are some of the most skeptical and inquisitive people in the world. Yet Americans seem to deny scientific facts like climate change and evolution.
We used to be #1 in science. Now we're #1 in science denial. I have one thing to say about this, but I think Dr. Evil puts it best:

If everyone is thinking alike, somebody isn't thinking. -George S. Patton

Opinion: My thoughts and opinions about the pros and cons of facebook

Here are some thoughts and opinions I have on ways Facebook is both good and bad.
Mark Zuckerberg is about my age by now. Around 29 or 30 years old. He invented the most popular social media page that has pretty much replaced and outlived MySpace by now. Here are my thoughts on the good and bad things about this invention.

Here are some Pros:
It's a good way to keep in touch with people you know--including friends and relatives. Facebook has revolutionized how we keep tabs on our friends, relatives, and acquaintances. It's good to see how other people are doing. Sometimes without even asking.

Here are some Cons:
Seeing what other people are doing inhibits real life conversations where we just ask them what they're doing. It's also depressing to see some old friends of yours doing things without you and going places that they didn't invite you to. Do you really need to know all that?
Oh, good. You went to the concert without me. Nice of you not to give me a second thought. Do the rest of you not have jobs or what? Where do you find the time anymore?

Another Pro of Facebook:
It helps business and it lets people know when good things happen to you. It's nice to know people will support you when you try something or when you succeed at something. It's good that Facebook can let people in on the good things that happen in your life.
Most people are pretty supportive of what you're up to and will help you out along the way. These are your true friends.
Starting groups or promoting businesses or local music bands is also a great thing about it.

Another Con of Facebook:
Studies have shown that Facebook and social media can make you depressed or less happy. Positive psychologists have shown how seeing other people you haven't talked to in a while doing or accomplishing things that you didn't get to can bring you down. It can also give off the appearance that other people are better off than you or have better social lives--even if this isn't true. They may just be people who post more photos and things going good in their lives than you do. Some people use Facebook more than others.
People rarely gripe about their problems on Facebook for obvious reasons. Nobody likes an Eyore or Debbie Downer letting them down.
Facebook can sometimes show you how judgmental and superficial A FEW of its members are. Defriending and refriending certain people for the smallest things. Ugh. And sometimes defriending without explanation, leaving you scratching your head. Facebook is a popularity contest that way.

Anyway just thought I'd share my thoughts tonight. I've been meaning to blog about some other topic but I'll save that for another day.
